Think Far, Start Small

I gave myself credit for waking up at 6:45am on a precious Sunday morning to mark my childrens' Maths practices. Managed to complete 40% of their corrections before leaving home for church this morning. When will I ever learn to draw the clear line between work and personal life?

The more I think about my piles of unmarked worksheets and the list of tasks on hand to complete, I want to drown myself with chocolate ice-cream cone or simply sleeping!

I'd noted some insights when listening to John MacArthur teaching "Shade for Our Children" yesterday. JA commented, "Corporal punishment is the consequence for disobedience which modifies behaviour". If corporal punishment is no longer permissible in schools, we also lose our effectiveness to modify our childrens' wrong behaviour. What a sad reality. What are alternative methods to instill the importance of honor and obedience in our children then?

I believe that MG is one who had been provoked to anger by the adults in her life, including her once-adored Miss Goh. Her aggressive behaviour, her stubborn attitude, her perpetual habit to steal.... .... All these seems to be the consequences of anger that had been provoked by the adults in her life. I am at fault too. How can I make admends for my wrong done to her last Friday? How can I continue to love this child unconditionally?

Hopefully, when MG grows up, she will understand....
