Ms SS was teaching about the topic on the impact countries within the region have on one another. She saw the relevance to teach this particular topic in line with the seemingly worsening haze situation in Sunny Island.
Her Ps did their own research based on key words "PSI and haze in Singapore". They were the ones who directed her to the mentioned table. She found the data very relevant to what they were experiencing around them. (PSI in Sunny Island)
The authorities of Sunny Island stated that the effects of PSI between 51-100 is minimal. It should affect none or few of the general population. If that is so, why were there seemingly more sick people observed in the clinic downstairs?
While queuing at the yong-tau-foo stall this morning, an auntie was commenting that many people are sick because the weather is really bad nowadays. Who says kopitiam aunties cannot rise to the ranks of being amateur doctors with their unique senses too?
A heavy downpour may help wash away the pollutants in the air. However, it should only come after my laundry is fully dried.
For those unfortunate ones who are in the teaching profession like Ms SS, it is time to protect yourselves by reducing the amount of pollutants entering your lungs by talking and scolding less!
