My Uncle with the Gentle Charm

If I had known Uncle Seng Ho earlier, I know I would simply adore this distant uncle of mine. My first impression of him when we met at cousin's wedding last April was that he radiates a gentlemanly charm. His firm and discreet nature as we conversed revealed that he was a "no nonsense" person. Such was his serious attitude as he soughted to know God - 100% serious and 100% devoted.

The little that I heard from old Uncle Robert and his bunch of jolly fun cell group friends is sufficient enough to confirm how Uncle Seng Ho had changed from a "hard" man to the "gentle, charming" uncle whom I met earlier.

"神 愛 世 人 、 甚 至 將 他 的 獨 生 子 賜 給 他 們 、 叫 一 切 信 他 的 、 不 至 滅 亡 、 反 得 永 生 。" 約 翰 福 音 3:16 (Chinese Union Version)

Uncle's body would perish under the fury flames at tomorrow's cremation. But, thanks be to God! He would neither feel any pain nor sorrows because his soul is already with the Lord!

I think I will cry again tomorrow when we part. These tears would only be shed because I will miss my gentle and charming Uncle temporarily until the Lord returns. Till then, we will reunite in heaven in eternity again!

Dear Uncle, as we part, I know your heart may still have the unsaved loved ones who had not yet come to know our Savior. The list may include my own Father and my Aunt. Can you please help pray for perseverance for me to continue praying for their salvation be it the next 10 years or more? May God work in their hearts to acknowledge the need of a Savior for their sins and their loneliness!

Bye for now, Uncle Seng Ho! We will meet again, in a much better place where I will see you in a pain-free and new body again! Praise be to God!
