Love Tree

Ad questioned whether we have experienced God's love lately. I could recall the incident several weeks back when I stumbled into sin. It was then that I recognized my wayward sin and sought the Father. He was merciful and He revealled His word in Acts 3:19 which comforted me greatly then.

This particular statement that Ad made during today's sharing stayed in my mind, "...your ministry must be fuelled by God's love (experience of God's love in your own life), not because you love God (out of your love for God)..." On our own accord, we have no capacity to love God. It is fuelled by His initial love for us that we may love Him back and in turn love His people.

I was inspired to represent today's teaching with this drawing.

Assuming that I am the tree.

The function of the roots is to absorb God's love. He is the only source of love in the whole universe. Remember, God is above, so I am hanging upside down!

The function of the trunk is to support the tree and transport God's love to the other parts of the tree.

It is only when I am nourished by God's love that I may bear fruits that testify His love. See the red apples? Those are the fruits that a healthy tree would bear. Okay, my apples should be hanging down (with the pull of gravity) instead of standing up. I realized this mistake only after I loaded the picture!
Inspirations are often drawn out of our daily experiences - I have been revising the topic of Plants with my kids and I simply love the botanical topics in Science!
