T&E and the Award

His blog site seems to imply that his life is like a journey of trial and error http://trippinaround.blogspot.com "Tripping around" and simply picking up from where he last tripped and getting up again. I am not sure whether that is what he meant. Anyway, he is a creative person and one knows not what he is thinking. I had always admired this fellow blogger. :)

Talk about "tripping around". I T&E (a.k.a Trial & Error) so much with my children over these 4 months that I am beginning to think that these poor ones had been depraved of proper teaching and guidance from an experienced teacher. When I compared Mrs K's class performance and my own class in the recent exams, the results of the children who were drilled by an experienced teacher is evident. I am humbled with this realization. Would I be as capable as a Mrs K in being able to teach my children the same way in academically driven Singapore?

The lady who was casually dressed in T-shirt and jeans when I first met her at the school gate on my first day of work won the "Inspiring Chinese Teacher Award" today. Comically, when everyone in the staff-room was congratulating her, I was still guessing whether she was pregnant and whether it was a promotion - neither of both! I am very happy for her because (1) she truly deserves the award that she is getting, (2) I realised the source of 'love' she has to impact her pupils only recently - praise be to the higher Being whom her source of love and strength is drawn from.
