Spring has arrived in SG!

Some leaves of these trees near the carpark of my block have changed colour! It rained this morning (a refreshing break from the heatwave of yesterday) and the weather now is cool at around 28 degrees celsius. Wow, spring has arrived in our sunny island!

My mind is still disoriented from the break. Slept 12 hours straight and I still feel sleepy.
Food in Kuching is simply sedup! I receive my daily indulgence of midin, the chewy jungle fern, prepared in different styles - salad with slight sour dressing, fried in belacan and fried with garlic, ginger and onions.
Besides Ah Tong laksa near church, I have learnt to appreciate laksa that's prepared Sarawakan style. Loaded with prawns, slightly like mee siam.
Alexandra's daddy ta-pao packs of kolo mee back to SG every time they return from Kuching. One of my mission this trip was to try the kolo mee cooked and prepared on the spot! It's okay, I guess. Very similar to our local wantan mee excluding the wantan.
People in Kuching
I told Tian that one thing I learnt during my stay there was about people and the relationships among them. We owe one another countless debts of favours and love that even God Himself did not count against us.
They communicate a lot via the telephone or face to face communication, unlike us who rely tonnes on texted messages or emails.
The social class is evident. There are more rich people in Kuching than in KL, I think. Haa! We cannot do without $$. I am still not sure whether I envy friends who are born white horses. Neither am I contented with my current income level. The Lord will provide what I need in His time.
Uncle George and Aunt Mary radiate Christ-likeness in what they do and who they are. I found God in Kuching through divine encounters with fellow believers like Tian's parents and this missionary couple.
Dress-making and Shopping in Kuching!
Tian told me that women occupy their time by making tailored clothing in Kuching. COOL! The dress she got tailored at Vivid Impressions cost less than 150 riggit. WOW! That's one of the reasons why I like Kuching!
TY teased Tian and I for going ga-ga about shopping in Kuching. People hardly shop in Kuching because the items sold are either out-dated stuff or factory rejects. Well, we practiced selective shopping - Tian only brought me to the shops that Eileen used to frequent like Orangety and Urban&Co. Two boutiques is enough to keep us occupied for two hot afternoons!
Shoes! Yes, Vinnci shoes cost half the price of those in Singapore. How can I resist coming home empty-handed without a single pair. Here's my loot from shopping-close-to-paradise. I am satisfied.
