Raging Tempest

"There is a longing only You can filled. A raging tempest only You can still..." goes one of my all-time favourite Don Moen songs. This phrase is keeps repeating in my alert mind. It is 2:30AM and I cannot return back to sleep. I thought massages and foot reflexology are meant to help blood circulate in the body and improve quality of sleep. The one that Gabel and I went to this afternoon seems to have a totally different effect on my body.

A heart with its deepest longings is like a raging tempest. I believe that there is an empty void in every human heart that is only replaceable by God. Nothing can quench our desires for things of this world except true contentment in the love and grace of God.

Oh, once I overcome the tempest raging in my heart, only then can I hit my pillow again.

If the return of my Bridegroom is near, why am I still so laid back in preparation for His arrival? I cannot afford to have no oil in my lamp because I do not want to miss Him.
